Dang, Time has slowed to a stop. I will be retired from the Asylum in just 4 hours. I only been here for 43 years. (I sometimes think they are gonna just take my keys away and keep me here...)

Anyways, I am really lookin foward to all the things I can do now that I am retired:

yardwork
clean garage
clean office
more yard work
paint inside
more yard work
paint outside

then maybe I can have me some fun, and even hang out with the Grumpy Lunch Bunch...(do ya think that might make me grumpy??? )

anyways down to just 3 hours 55 minutes now...

well maybe they'll just let ya go with Time served,  ;D

congratulations to ya, that's quite a feat in itself to stay anywhere that many years.

Thank you kindly

one cool thing about it is that my wife just retired with 33 years at the asylum, and I have 43 years. We are missing a great deal of our sanity, and while we still have all our body parts, I have to admit many of them are mangled, however,

between our CalPERS and our Social Security, we will be making a pretty darn good wage... (so I guess there are benifits in stayin in one place for a bit..)

Congratulations!  I retired from the Kansas DOT in June with about 31 years of service.  I haven't had the urge to go back to the office once, although I've had a few nightmares about it...  It is my opinion that you will find it most enjoyable to not have to go to work every day.  I've managed to keep fairly busy since then.  We did take off and spend a month and a half in Colorado last summer in our RV.  It turned out to be quite an expensive trip, as we found a house in Montrose, CO that we liked and finally closed on it a week ago last Thursday.  Now we'll be spending the next couple of months finishing getting our stuff that we will keep moved out here.  Although things have been and will continue to be busy for awhile, it is a very welcome change and a whole new start just because my wife convinced me to stay at a job I hated for the last 10 years or so.  I'm glad I did, because a lot of my friends that are older than me can't retire for now.  My wife retired two years ago yesterday so we are both free to do or not do what interests us.  It sounds like you are in for an enjoyable time.  Just watch our for your health and don't get in the habit of sitting on the couch all day...  Again, CONGRATULATIONS!

Don't have to worry about that, in fact my wifey is thinkin I am too busy...(I am plannin to go gold pannin in Azusa Canyon)
and
I just got tickets to go see that crazy man Craig Ferguson...got the tickets immediately. thought would get tix to go see Bonnie Hunt for the wifey (and I kinda think she is cute) but they have to get back to ya....

I plan on spontainious traveling. If I wake up in the morning and want to go to Tombstone, gonna tell wifey pack a bag and off we go. Stop and look around when I feel like it. I been waitin on this retirement thing for a good bit. and it looks like I will be able to afford some of the stuff I want to do....

anyways I am down to 2 hours 45 minutes....

good shootin

Yup, I be out and about. NYE, we went to Tupalo Flash's house for probably the first nye party I have gone to in about 10 years.

Yester day I sat and loaded about 60 some odd shotshells for the next match.Today I took a nap...a really loooong nap. And I just realized I am gettin paid some really good money to load ammo and sleep.

Next time some one comes on the wire and says it "aint worth my time to reload shotshells".....I am gonna just laugh out loud.

Right now I am gettin paid about $200 per day to load shot gun shells heheheh (Come September when the SS kicks in, I will be gettin about $300 per day to load them shotshells...

Heck, I think it is a pretty good way to look at it..

Congratulation, Curley. I'm retired for allmost 4 years after 40 years of working and have never regret. I've now time to play my games, like horsebackriding, CAS shooting and reloading. I love every day I'm free of work. Enjoy your "LIFE of FREEDOM".  ;D
