I don't want to sound dumb, but have a question. In the applications for some of the major shoots there is a catagory for "Conventioneer"

What is that?

A non-shooter attending the event.  Like if yur better half is goin wit ya and dressen da part but don't shoot da main match.

I thought "Conventioneers" could shoot everything but the main match? That's why there are conventioneer prices for EOT, and "spouse" prices. The conventioneers can shoot, the spouses can't, but the spouse can join their shooting partner in the area of the shooters.


Now I'm confused,

EOT is a different animal than most big shoots.  Rarely does an event charge a spouse to watch and dress up.
A conventioneer gets to shoot a limited number of events or stages AND the banquet is usually included in the fee.  Like Annie sez.. imagine a conventioneer as everything but the stage shooting at an event.

For me, conventioneering will be the likely way that I will attend the bigger shoots.  Sure, I love to shoot, but I don't plan to spend $100 plus to see if I can come in 377th out of 700.  And with conventioneering, I get all the socializing I can stand with no brass picking.

Big Hext has pretty much got it;  Conventioneer gets to do everything except shoot the main match.  At least, that is the most common condition for the class.

Nope, he's cornfused. Slim is one with the corn. I could understand that if he was from Eye-oh-way, but since he's from Wissyconsin, it doesn't make any sense!
