Question, about forearm fit on a Single shot Rifle

howdy Folks,
A question that has been debated a lot. For BPCR shooting, what is the opition of this group, do you want your forearm toching completely against the reciever or should you have a small gap. I have 66 Sharps and 74 Sharps, and getting ready to fit the forearm to my #1 Rolling block. On both my Sharps they toch in some places, but not all the way.When I was shooting Ruger #1's all those had a tight fit with the reciever and shot excellent.
But I would like the advice of the gunsmiths on here!

I would suggest that you bed the forearm snugly against the receiver.  Whether or not you elect to fit the forearm to provide pressure against the barrel is your call.  I would suggest that you try it with a shim in place prior to final fit, to provide some pressure against the barrel, then fire it to see if it does better with or without it.  You can then either leave some forearm pressure, or make it neutral.
