Other than buying them and installing them yourself can a Cimarron or other Uberti 5 1/2" '72 or '60 R&M be had with army grips?
My 8" '60 R&M's have army grips and I'd like to buy a pair with 5 1/2" barrels with army grips.
My R&M's are the older style Cimarrons and the newer barrels will not fit with out a lot of work so I'd just as soon buy another pair.
Not interested in selling my 8" pair just going to add these.

I thought Uberti had added the Army grips to the options of the 5-1/2 inch barrel 72, but I might not have heard correctly.  In any case, finding it on the store shelf would be another matter.  You'll have to check the websites for availability, or get a set from VTIgunparts.  If they came from the factory, of course, it would be cheaper and fitted.

Cimarron used to have them either way (or their website listed them that way?). Hell I think I forgot to take my Ginko :o

Mr. McCandles,
Uberti hasn't made the Open Top with the 5 1/2" barrel with the Army grip that I have ever seen. Those that you do see have been mixed and matched.  Neither Cimarron or Taylor's has cataloged them that way for at least the last several years.

Now, there are '60 R&Ms with 5 1/2" barrels, they are also supposed to be available with 4 3/4 barrels.  I've personally seen some 4 3/4" guns, but not any for sale. I have have seen 5 1/2" barreled guns for sale.

I will tell you this from recent experience, don't take the answer, "we don't have any in stock" as the end to your investigation.  Have several dealers check for you and have them call, don't let them just look the inventory up online.

The 1860 Richards-Masons (and Type II's) only come with Army grips (all-steel gripframe).  The 1851 R-M only comes with Navy grip (brass gripframe).

The 7 1/2" Opentops are made with both Army and Navy gripframes.  The shorter barreled OT's are only made with Navy grips.

Right now Cimarron has a pretty good stock of the OT's and R-M's.

Hope that helps.

So I reckon if I decide on the open tops I'm stuck with navy grips, and the way I ready it the 1860 R&M's I can get with Army grips in 5 1/2". Right?
I'd rather have the '60's to match my 8"er's

Now if I could just sell this NMA I have left I'd be able to order the first one.

Thanks
