I tried to find a related thread with no luck.  :(  My stampede is a new 357 caliber. I fired about 200 rounds total with no hot loads and no problems. Recently though the cylinder won't cycle if the barrel is pointing down or level...only pointing up. I've had several SA's apart but I don't consider myself technical by no means. However if it's something I can tinker with, I try it. Any observations or advice is most welcome. I just don't have the experience to know what it is.

Thanks!!!

If it were the other way around I would think hand spring. Need more info, does the hammer go back and the cylinder not turn or does it jam up?

The hammer does not go back and the cylinder does not turn. This happens loaded or unloaded.

Adding to the request for more information, does the cylinder move forward and backward more than a very little and can you see a little "daylight" between the the front of the cylinder (down at the base pin bushing) and the frame when the cylinder moves to the rear?  With the cylinder pushed to the front, is there a little daylight between the front face of the cylinder and breach end of the barrel?

Even with "enough" information, without having the gun in hand, it's still going to be "Best guess Mr. Spock."

Sounds like a bad or misaligned hand spring.
