I decided.......Ya gotta have a different `mind set` once ya commit fully ta the Holy Black, thars NO WAY yer Ever gonna win (`Cept by skulduggery `n` that aint the way of a Soot Lord), a match competin `ginst those that use that heathen, ungodly smokeyless stuff.

But, ya gonna win EVERY TIME in the happiness posse

I've seen folks come darn close.
Sheriff Bill Murphy 3rd overall at Winter Range a couple of years ago and Runamuck 3rd overall at the SASS Washington State Championships this year. Both shooting Frontier Cartridge with honest smoke.

As a great pard of mine once opined, it all depends on who shows up at the match.
And with BP, what is the wind and humidity like.

I cant get 10 rds below 9.05 on a 5 target string!! Providin the wind helps a tad!!

Oooh dang it!!
Now I got to 'fess up.
One target, A4 size (8"x11"), approx. 20 feet.
32.5 grains of holy black out of 7.5" ROA's
10 rnd dump, indoors-no wind during a safety lecture and demonstration.

UKshooter, hangs head in shame, shuffles off into the ssssunset, muttering.

  I don't understand why most shooters would be in a hurry to start with.   

   You spend the most part of a day loading enough ammo, preparing the weapons wipin 'm down oil'n tuning etc.,  loading up in the wagon.  Then (in my case) drive the best part of 2 hours to get there. You pay yer fee's then stand in line, pick up brass or spoting for 4 or 5 seconds on the "heathen" shooters. All finish you enjoy some friendship and you load the wagon back up and drive a couple hours (or more) home and start over again.   Seems like alotta of time and work to shoot for 2 minutes.   I for one, want to shoot, make lots of smoke fire and brimstone

Litl Rooster, dont forget that us poor old boys in the UK can only have C&B revolvers, and some of us, for our sins, have a competitive streak.
I like the bang, I like the smoke and sometimes I would wish to be higher up the result list.
Oh to be loading BP cartridges for a pair of .45 Vaquero's, (whimper)( sob, sob)

I don't understand why most shooters would be in a hurry to start with.

We got us a pard whut `takes the bisquit`....

He arrives at the range when most of the setting up is done, and when Annie `O` starts writin the shootin roster he will chime in with, ..gotta got at midday as I gotta pick up the MIL, or gotta go at midday `cos we got MIL comin ta dinner!! Its Every match!! He travels 35 miles and sometimes doesn't even complete 3 of the stages!! 

Some folks jest bewilder me!!

I cant get ta the range fast enuf `n` once weve finished  `n` tidied away most times me `n` Ned  will then have a `plink`

Trouble is, at our club ya pay a yearly fee that covers ya for the use of ALL the ranges for approx 350 days of the year!!

Regardin the individual shoots  ie. Action Rifle, Historic, Gallery, Western etc. It`s down to the Shoot Captains as to whether or not they make a charge for their shoot to re-coop costs incurred for running that shoot (Targets tape etc). Which then brings it back ta the individual as ta whether or not his conscious spikes him or not!!
