I use a piece of 1000 grit wet and dry  sand paper with a little bit of water and the craftool keen edge sharpener for swivel knife blades threw tandy
I glue the sand paper to a piece of partical board or something hard and flat the just lightly hone the blade the stop it on a piece of leather with jewlers rouge

I use an extra fine stone for tune-ups. If the blade is dinged I'll use a fine stone. After the stone I use
001K crocus cloth then strop.

I had a couple people ask where to get the crocus cloth, most good hardware should carry it.

Thanks for the info WC.  I will have to scout around for some crocus cloth.  The big box hardware stores have put the good hardware stores out of business around here so maybe I'll get lucky and find it somewhere.
