I finally traded one of my Double D knives to my dad for a Double D knife that I have wanted for years. Yesterday I started a sheath for this little razor, after having it fall out of the questionable one it was in, and attempt to remove parts of me.
Well, here it is. Its still a little damp, so is showing up as darker than it is. I will take some good woodpile pics tomorrow and post them too.
I have a few little touch up things to do yet, like a Skidmores treatment, but its pretty much done now.

I also built a little sheath for my pard Bow View Haymaker and his little knife. It is the non spotted sheath.

 :)Howdy DM,
SUPER NICE, times 2, knife sheaths.  I realy like them!! I been laying here for weeks trying to think of what I was doing wrong on mine, because they didn't spark me like a lot of them do, and now, after you posted yours, i have to go make a new one this weekend!! I havn't been doing any leather work, being working all I can on my Rolling Block project!
But After I saw yours, the light came one!! And I thank you!!

Thanks gents. The color is Fiebings dark brown, then scuffed, then light brown over the top. I also wrinkled it by flexing the heck out of it. I kinda like the look that gave.
Will get some more pics later today hopefully.

Very nice Dalton, another piece of inspiration for me, and also a newbie question. Looking at the back part, (I'm sure it has a name, I just don't know it!) you have two lines running completely aound it, spaced a quarter inch or so apart. I keep trying to get that done on scrap, and so far it looks pretty crappy. Can you tell me what you are doing there?

Thanks a lot, JD

JD, that is the skirt. What I did was use my stitch groover, and went around the skirt for the outsde line. Then I took my bow compass, set it to the desired width, and scribed the inside line. Then I went over that line with my swivel knife. Last, I beveled the edges to make the raised portion between the two lines.

Using the groover and a swivel knife together, the lines do look different, and I reallly dont like it that way too much. The groover tends to be a better line, and I should have used my adjustable groover for the inside, but was being lazy there. Its hard to tell at a distance, but I see it anyway.

Very nice work, Dalton. I like the look you got by flexing the leather. I've done that on belts before to give a texture to the surface. You have a great design, there. Nice and balanced. The spots look good, too. Thanks for sharing.

Good work, Dalton, as usual. Thanks for showing it to us.
I like the wrinkled look too. I draw my belts up from under a ax handle with a white terry cloth towel under the belt. That works real good for strap leather items.

Thanks Dalton, I guess I REALLY need to work on my beveling, because it's never that smooth. I've got the following Craft Tool bevelers: 60, 197, 198, 199, 203, 204, 701. Maybe you or someone would want to recommend a different beveler.

Thanks a bunch! JD

JD, I use B206 for long straight stretches like that. I usually go back over them every few inches with a fast light hammer, just to smooth and blend it all together.
Thanks for the comments all. I couldnt get any pics tonite, got out of work just at sunset, so poo. Will try to get some tomorrow at lunch. I have a coat of Skidmores now anyway, so should look a little better.
