Lawdog, that is why I am so pooped out today.  ;D

No more Josey Wales stuff for yours truly. Rifles were made for a purpose and I intend to use them for that purpose from now on.

It is always fun to try things though, so I am not disappointed in that regard. It was kindo of funny trying my best to hit those far away targets, so I had some laughs at myself and that made it all worthwhile.

I did pretty good at hitting the dog with spit though, so it wasn't a complete washout. I would recommend ya'll try it at least once though. I did and now I can say I did, but don't look for this old geezer to try it again real soon.  ;D

D.M. getting caught up in the strings is just what I looked like was happening.  :D

Forty Rod, I see you signed up for the match too. Great! If you are worried about sinking, I would be willing to eat your FREE lunch for you. I'll risk it.
As for sinking myself, I have a plan. I am gonna tie a couple garbage can lids to the bottom of my boots to distribute the weight. You might want to bring yer camera, cuz I might be standing there in the mud with my garbage can lids and my pants fallen down due to the weight of four loaded pistolas. I'll wear my long handles so I don't embarrass myself.  ;D

By the way, don't you need some rain for mud? What mud?  ::)

How did you do?

This is the first full match I've shot in 13 years and I found that even going that long with absolutely no practice whatsoever, not even dry firing, I can still step up there and confidently miss almost very target and never raise a sweat.  I had one clean stage: missed every single thing I shot at.  If it hadn't been for gravity I'd have missed the whole dang planet.
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Forty Rod, it never matters how you shoot, just how good you look shooting and you looked like you were having a great time and lookin' good. I should have asked to posse with you. I'd have razzed you something awful. Nawww I wouldn't do that. Yup, I would have.
It was great to see you mi amigo.
:)

I came in 3rd in Josey Wales and I think 4th in Cowboy

Rooster, I took my camera. I had it in the guncart. I got so busy with loading, trying my best to remember the stages and then I got excited about the free lunch and all that, I didn't take a single picture. Forty Rod wore a big brimmed hat and looked like a true powder shooter all the way. I wore my oldest hat that looks kinda grubby and a pair of Wahmakers and black boots. I don't wear silly outfits when we are talkin' all blackpowder. Ya gotta look the part. Everyone at the shoot did. I saw more boss of the plains hats than I have seen at one shoot in a long time. Even Prof Cubby Bear looked darned 1880s ish. You would have sworn you stepped back a 120 years for sure. I apologize for no pics, but maybe others took some to look at, we will see.
At the shoot was some who's whos too. Forty Rod of course. Ethan Cord, who was at the very first ever SASS match and still is a young pard, Rowdy Yates of course, and it was Rowdy who introduced BP to SASS, then there was Cliff Hanger, a pard that has been around the game forever, Roan Henry, a fast shootin' son of a gun, that is known for some great BP shootin'. Red Sun, Sacramento Johnson, Jailhouse Jim, Coffee and his daughters, Beartrap Bandit, Desert Dawg and a bunch more folks that are known for making some serious smoke. I had hoped that Dutch could have been there, but he was missed. He was an early Wild Bunch member and now heads up Happy Trails Childrens events, that was formed by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Roy was a SASS member, so is his son Dusty.

I sure had some fun and that should hold me until after the first of the year, since I have no shooting planned until then.  :)
