Cowboys and Cowgirls,

You are hereby invited to join the Yellow Ribbon Brigade.

Ever since the first troops left our soil with their mission I have been wearing a yellow ribbon for a hat band. It is set off in front with a pin on American flag and held together in back by my SASS badge. A simple arrangement but it works well. I have had a few cowboys ask me if there was any significance to the ribbon and I explained that it was to show my support for the brave men and women who were defending everything we enjoy here. Knowing I am too old to join up and help, the very least I can do is show my support and carry on here at home with "normal" life.
> My request is that we form a "Yellow Ribbon Brigade" within SBSS. The only requirement, other than being a SBSS member of course, is that they wear a yellow ribbon with an American flag on it somewhere on their person as they attend SASS shoots and functions. It doesn't have to be a hat band, only a simple ribbon held on with a pin on American flag.
> It is a just a small way to show our support. I know there are some who oppose our presence there but even with that they can still support our brave soldiers who are there doing their duty and assuring that ALL of us can maintain the "normal" life of freedom that we enjoy.
> Even if someone doesn't join SBSS they could be invited to wear the ribbon and be a supporter. Wouldn't it be great to attend a match and see yellow ribbons on every shooter?

That is the request that started the Yellow Ribbon Brigade.

Col. Dan has approved this brigade and appointed me as Commander.

As such I am hereby extending an invitation to each and every one of you to join the Yellow Ribbon Brigade.

I am also extending it to every cowboy and cowgirl out there whether they are a SBSS member or not as approved by Col. Dan.

Spread the word to friends and family alike. Lets show our support.

I hope to see many yellow ribbons at upcoming shoots.

My question on this is.....we just add a simple yellow ribbon like a hat band on our hats?  Pin it on with an American Flag like a tie tack?  That's it?  I think I can handle that! I can get a strip of yellow grossgrain ribbon at a fabric shop and have one of the ladies show me how to tie a bow knot in it and center the flag pin right in the middle of the knot.

I copied and pasted your post over in TFS.

Scarlet Angel

I weave a long yellow ribbon through my hair. Been doing that for sometime now. Guess I've joined.  ;D
