I'm asking a question for my brother...for my first post.

He recently bought a used New Blackhawk in 357. (I haven't seen this gun yet as we live 300 miles apart). He said that one of the chambers won't fire and won't rotate. This gun has unknown round count but from the sound of it. It has seen some miles.

Any thoughts would be appreciated... ;D

Howdy JQ,
If it rotates fine 5 times but then that one chamber won't rotate, sounds like the ratchet on the back of the cylinder is worn or damaged at that one point.  Maybe combined with wear of the hand.  I'm not a gunsmith, just guessing.  Good luck!

Have had no problems with Ruger on repairs, just call them and they will tell how to send it to the factory.  Even replace a friends gun that was blown up from an overload , at not charge.

I have to echo John Taylor.  As many guns as I work on each season, when there is a real problem with a Ruger, Ruger is serious about their warranty.  I have NEVER seen them fail to fix ANYTHING.
While you may have the hassle of shipping, it is usually at no charge to the owner.  Give Ruger a call, they will arrange shipping for you.  Their service may not be "instant" but they will take care of the problem.
