Try Steve Young.  That's where I got mine.  If he doesn't, he can probably stir you to someone that does.  He's the 92 specialist.

I went shopping on the SASS Wire and found one that the owner had changed off his 92.  It ran $60 shipped.  I had checked at M&M Gunsmithing and Legacy, they were out.

Mad Mike

Thanks Capt.  I found your ad in the wire.

I see I'm in the same place you were .. got a wild hair  ;)

If I can find one from a Win 92, it'll fit mine then, right ?

You need one for the Puma, I have no idea if a Win 92 part will fit.

Mad Mike

Thanks again Capt.

One more question for ya'll.   Mine is an old Rossi I bought used.
I'm thinking that the 130 bucks from Steve Young is a lil much ( half of what I paid for the gun ) to put on mine.

I've been thinking about selling mine & getting a new Legacy Puma.

So what do ya'll think ? Keep mine or get a brand new one ??

Legacy's website shows them, but they do not have them.  I checked there first.

If you are thinking about a new one, you'll have to get either a EMF or one of the Puma's before the changeover if you want a Rossi.  The Puma will soon be Italian and the cost will go up dramatically. Whatever Rossi you get it'll need tuning.  Steve Young sells them tuned uo.  If you have the bucks ask him about the Duke model he puts together.

I've got a 20" older one that I am going to work over.  I handled one that Stve worked over, and believe me there is no comparison to a stock one.  I decided I had to have a John Wayne rifle, so I picked up a 16" Puma and bought the loop for it, since they didn't have one with the loop where I was buying it. I have bought  Steve's DVD and plan to do the work myself, but I doubt I can match his ability.

What do ya'll think about the Henry Big Boy ??  45lc as it should be.

Always liked the way they looked.  ;D

The John Wayne big loop was made just for him so he could twirl it while cocking.  Win made a run of these at some point to commemorate him.  You might get a better deal and a better fit by going to a gunsmith and telling him just what you want.  I don't know how PC the large loop levers are, but they are nice, especially if ya have big hands like me.

What about quality ?  Legacy Puma or a Henry ?
