Have you asked at your local Toyz4men store?  Are you already in CAS?  In the NCOWS thread there is contact info for 2 SASS clubs within an hour of DFW.

Lots of info on this forum.

Not really sure on the insurance? I keep mine in an out building about 200ft from the house.
Just store it in a cool dry place.

You can get the powder from Powder Inc

I have never bought BP loaded ammo but have seen it at a number of vendors websites. Midway is where I get allot of my firearm related stuff.

I second the Powder INc. I have yet to have a problem, other than some crushed cans in my last shipment, and that was UPS fault.

As far as storage, I keep my powder in an old Treasury Dept fireproof file cabinet. Works good. I dont know about the insurance, but as long as you have good storage, they shouldnt gripe much. If you get over so many pounds of it tho, they might be concerned, as will the ATF, fire dept, etc.
I would also suggest the fire eating and flare juggling hobbies be curtailed in your storage area. ;)

The only local source of black powder in the DFW area I know of is Gibson's Outpost on Lawson Road in Mesquite. They are across the road from the Devil's Bowl Speedway. Or at least they were, I haven't been there in a couple-three years.

You can keep your powder anywhere there aren't open flames and unsecured electric arcs. The best thing I know of is an old refrigerator. Those things are well enough insulated to where if the house catches fire the powder won't light off until it's too late to save the house anyway. Drill some holes and add a cheap hasp and padlock, just something to keep curious kids out of there.

Just remember, if you buy only one or two pounds, then retail is fine. If you plan on loading up, try Graf and Sons (free shipping) or Powder, Inc. Last time I bought a one pound container of GOEX it was like twenty bucks. At Graf's their brand is about $11.50 a pound, plus a twenty dollar HazMat fee and you can ship twenty-five (or is it fifty?) pounds per HazMat fee. The last time I bought one pound of GOEX it was like $18.00 plus sales tax. So it doesn't take very many pounds before mail order is cheaper than retail.

I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt sell it anymore. The Feds have made it increasingly difficult for vendors to carry powder. In the last 3 years every local dealer has stopped carrying the holy black. The only place I can get it is at Friendship but they are over an hour away.
Help Goex Powder change that. They are working on an initiative to change the hazmat class of BP so that it isnt considered any more dangerous that smokeyless powder. Do what I did & print out the front page of their website & take it to all the places that used to carry BP or places that would if the regs werent so steep.

Back on topic, you can have up to 50lbs of powder afore them Pinkerton's comes lookin fer ya.
