That's good !
Heck, why not . If that's all you got is a Howitzer , it will work just fine looks like . Not too good on squirrels , but I am sure the ones standing behind that deer are very afraid of MAN .

I saw this a couple of years ago (forget where) and thought it was hilarious then.  My opinion hasn't changed.

What workmanship!

I'm impressed.  And amused.

I can 1 up that  ;D

Back in the early 80's I was a gunner on a M60a3 tank. I was in the 1st firing order for night qualification. As I sat in my tank looking through the TTS (tank thermal sight)  I spotted a deer on the range.
Just for giggles I layed on target & lased. The main gun jumped as it adjusted for range, wind, temp & tube wear.
The TC saw what I was doing I said "you cant hit that", I said "wanna bet?".

Just about that time the range went wet (command to fire was given). I squeezed the trigger & the screen went white from the muzzle blast. As the image came back into focus i saw the tracer from my 105mm HEAT round (dummy) connect with the deer.
It was picked up & flung out of view.

My "miss" was noted by the CO (I had a reputation as one of the better gunners in the company). He was outraged that I could miss my designated target by so much.

Ego got in the way of good sense & I had to tell him I hit exactly what I was aiming at.

Long story short, I got in trouble for engaging local wildlife.

I do know I went down in history... Story of that shot is still told at Ft Knox, along with a firm warning not to do the same. ;D

Rusty,

Was that perhaps at Yano range?  Never shot any deer, but I've lased a Battalion's worth!

I put more than 3000 105mm rounds downrange in M60A1 & A3s (most from the A3) at Ft. Knox myself.  Then came the M1s and M1A1s.

I was at the Engineer Board for 4.5 years and was able to shoot WAAAAAY more than line gunners.  I had the 1st M1 at Ft. Knox - serial #15.  We did most of our shooting on Wilcox range and (I forget the name) the one closest to the floating bridge site.

As much as I like love shooting BP and Cowboy stuff, I sure miss the BIG boomers!

SH,

I dont rightly recollect the name of the range we were on at the time. Its been a looong time!

Shortly after that I re-uped for airborne infantry & got sent to Ft Bragg.

I was in the 194th & was leaving just as the M1's were coming in.

I taken me a cottontail this am with my .410.  It dressed out lookin' a lot like that buck.  Ate it for dinner this evening.  All a matter of scale, of course.  My dawg retrieved the bunny.  I'll bet ya had to drag that buck.  Of course, that buck will go for more than one meal. . . .

Good shootn'.  Ya kin tell that I'm just plain jealous of that cannon.

Yep!  Grizz, that's one of the few things that makes a tank look like a kid's toy!
