Chaparral 1873 cartridge feeding problems

Hello everybody, looking for help.  Just got a Chaparral 1873 in .357 and all the ammo I have right now is 38 special.  They don,t want to eject very well.  The extractor is just making a small mark on the case.  If I eject them with out firing they eject fine.  Also have had feeding problems with some rounds, some bullets catch on the chamber and some casings don't want to go into the chamber.  They all go with some coaxing but a guy wants stuff to work right.  I appreceate any and all feed back.
