:-\ I am looking for the left side extractor for a .44 Russian Spencer (from Taylor's). Any ideas? Anyone have a spare one you want to part with?

My carbine stopped ejecting and I noticed the top of the extractor is a bit shorter than the right side. I removed the part and sure enough, the top of it is broken off.

Sgt. Scott,

You may have to contact Taylor's and order a replacement part from them...if they have any in stock.

They should have them...under some poor advice I removed my right side on my 45 Sch. (supposed to help with extraction)
welll NOPE ! ..but the dang if I did not misplace it ..I got one from VTI and one from Taylors reason (Taylor's was out of stock)
So I wrote VTI ...
the funny part was Taylor's came through and theirs arrived two days after VTI's course by then I found the original  ::)
Though , Now I have traded the 45  Sch and I sent the parts with it  :-X ....or I'd send it on to you
Point is ,if Taylors is out of stock VTI should be able help you.

Major 2,

Are the .44 Russian & .45 Scofield extractors the same part?  Sgt Scott was looking for an extractor for his .44 Russian.

Do you have a mail and web site address for VTI?

Thanks for the reply folks. I contacted Taylor's but they are waiting on a shipment from Armi Sport and don't know if one is included or not. I had called VTI, but they had the same problem. I don't think the 45 Schofield and 44 russian are the same parts, the book I have for the russian lists 3 seperate part numbers. Thing I am worried about now is that Armi Sport has discontinued the russian so may not have any parts laying around. I emailed Armi today and will give VTI another call.

Thanks again pards,

Hi Sgt Scott,

I Emailed my contact at Armi Sport regarding a replacement extractor for your .44 Russian Spencer.  I received the following reply:

Dear Two Flints,

Sure I can help. You or your member can contact our US Service Center at rnorton@chiappafirearms.com

I'm not sure if they have any of the extractor in stock now, but we can ship it over in the next delivery.

With best regards.

Armi Sport

Let me know if you make contact and what happens with your Email request.

Thanks Two Flints,

I'll let you know how it goes. I contacted VTI this morning and they are still waiting on an order. They expect to wait up to 60 days.

Romano Rifle can make them.

My carbine works again... I contacted Ron (US Chiappa rep), VTI and Taylors. Ron told me over the phone the part was covered by warranty and would send me one, but it has not shown up. VTI indicated they would ship one when it arrived and same with Taylors. Taylors did send the part, but when it arrived, I discovered it was the right side rather than the left side. I phoned and returned the part and they sent the correct one. When it arrived, it worked fine and I am back in action. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Not two days after I received the parts from Taylors, Ron Norton came through with parts from Chiappa (under Warranty at that). Thanks Ron,

And especially thank you Two Flints, for the contact.

Just wanted to report. I received the extractors from Armi Sports (rmorton) and installed them. Chickamauga was the first event I was able to test my carbine since it has gone back into action (other than shooting around the house). Realize these are blanks, but dirty ones at that with all the black powder and COW, I even tried some blanks with floral foam replacing the COW. I shot upwards of 400 rounds with only one jam (when the barrel got hot). The extractor worked fine. Thanks for all the help.

a happy camper,
