Hey ya All ... Remember the Bullet?  Hello?
Anyway, it was the Original 500gr Big Lube Bullet with the 0.894 length from the driving band to the base.  Good for a 45-90 but not for the 2.1 case because sufficient BP wouldn't fit in the case.

I remembered that I had the best 600yd group ever with it using H777 ... 7"x2 3/4".  And I'm going back to Ridgway to visit Homer at 1000yds.  So, dug out the last 496gr cast ones in 1:20 and loaded them with 28gr XMP5744 - 1317fps.  Gonna see how they fly again.

As for the MK-III's - nope, none going to the range.  Waiting for Dick's report

John just for kicks if you have some 3f express, throw 73 grs in with a .030 fiber wad. That combo makes a 530 do 1275 out of 28 inch barrel, might just be enough to get this bullet to fly.

Don - never happen!  From the crimp groove to the base, this bullet is 0.894 long.  About 53gr BP is the best one can PACK into the case.  That's why I used H777 and even had to compress the 59gr hard.
To the best of my knowledge, the bullet is like Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose  ;)  And to this day, with any other bullet, I can't duplicate that group with 2 witnesses.  Ole Dan, a BPCR shooter at the club, jaw dropped when we looked at the 5 holes on the paper and he still talks about it today.  Sure wish I had my digital camera!

Hmm that do sound like something better suited for a 120 ;D
I took to carry a digital camera along time ago when testing loads, that way a person can catch the moment of those iddy biddy braggin sized (moa at 800 comes to mind) groups. Unfortunately most of the time its just something else to drag along that don't get used much. ::)
