300 grain hard cast question?

I want to load some 300 grain hard cast copperized bullets.-.44 magnum cases--large pistol primers--and a full load of APP-3f
Any problem?I'll be shooting a SuperBlackhawk 71/2" barrel. If no problem what kind of velocity can I expect?

Sounds like you are going to be getting something in the region of about 700 fps MV and around 320 lbs ME.

Incidently,  also quite a lot of felt recoil! Brace yourself!!

When I was shooting 44 mag I used a 300 gr lead over a lot of W296. I was shooting a super RedHawk and the recoil was not overwhelming. Really hits hard and accurately downrange. I called it, tongue in cheek, my bear load.
I averaged, over the chrony, 1202 and 955 ft/lbs.

I just thought i'd try blackpowder. I'd like to use the real thing but i had 240 & 300 grain hard cast lead with standard lube and from what i've been reading american pioneer powder should work with these bullet/lube combos. so i thought i'd give it a try.

Bushrod,  Go for it! Just be ready for a slight jolt. However, it won't be anywhere near like a full load of WW296 or H-110. If you've shot these, BP will be a cinch.  Gonna do the same thing next two weeks at Whittington Center and will have a huge SMILE all the time.

What a great round. I loaded them with American pioneer 3f full load with a 1/16th compression. Really sent the ram sillouette swinging at 50 yards, with a real wallop. I'm glad cause I have a bunch of them!
