Thars a Strange hole in my Pietta Sheriff!!

Any pards know what this hole is for or is it just a flaw

The hole itself is 2mm. and is flush against the frame

Hey PUK, that looks prime for doing a Ruger Spring and plunger conversion for the handspring, 'cos they do break fairly often, and get bent and generally become a pain in the aaaa.......
