Ok, I need to start a new wish list. I was thinking about a 60 or 66...maybe a 73 but rather a 60...or 66...but someti....aw you get my drift?

I'd like to get one...someday...in 44-40 since most other guns I have are 44-40. All of mine use .429s. Whats the "land" on the 44-40 Henry's? Are the pretty consistent?

What about the 66's?
I wish I could convert my 1858 to 44-40 but still want to use it for .454 C&B so I got the 45 Colt conversion cylinder.

Yeap, you know what my 73 will be chambered in huh?  ;D

Howdy

My 44-40 Henry slugged out at .429. My '73 slugged out at .427, but it is pretty old, made in the 1980s. I used to shoot .427 bullets exclusively in my '73, but when I got the Henry I compromised by upping my bullet diameter to .428.

By the way, just so you know, when you slug a barrel, you are measuring the groove diameter, not the bore. The bore is the size the original hole in the barrel was drilled, or bored. Then when the rifling is cut, the rifling tool cuts the rifling grooves a little bit deeper. The lands of the rifling are what remain of the origianal bored hole, and bore diameter is the diameter of the lands. For choosing a bullet diameter, it is the groove diameter that is important, not bore diameter.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Oh fiddlesticks....I knew that! ;D

I saw a 66 at a gunshow today for $700. I sure wanted to bring it home!

Must be used or new old stock.  That's below dealer!

Uberti (Beretta) is only shipping left over rifles to EMF, Taylor's and Cimarron, so they are more expensive and harder to get.

Savvy Jack, I can make a barrel for your 1858 in 44 but the BATF won't allow me to make cylinders for them anymore, They say I'm manufacturing a firearm.

That doesn't make sense. How can that be if R&D and Kirst can make cylinders AND not have to ship them to FFL?
