Ground Hog

I just wanted to say thank-you to all of you for all of the info I was able to get off this website. I bought a Chaparral 1876 in 45-60 and discovered it had some factory defects. Through info I found here, I was able to e-mail Nicola in Italy and he answered with in 8 hrs agreeing to send me whatever parts I needed free of charge no questions asked. He e-mailed 24 hrs after that saying they had been shipped and hoped I got them in a timely manner due to the holiday. That was yesterday so we will see how long it takes. I also was able to get in touch with one of your members who offered to TIG weld the missing cartrige lip back on for a ridiculously cheap price if all else fails. I still have heard nothing out of the folks here in the USA. Thanks again, you all turned a big disappointment into hope. This gun was purchased to replace my original 76 I sold 15 yrs ago to put the down payment on my first house. If I can fix the reliability problems it will. It sure is pretty and it is exceptionally accurate. Groups under 1 inch at 50 yards and I have only tried one powder and bullet so far. 5744 and RCBS 45-325-FN-U. Can't wait to try it with the Axtel sight I'm saving for.

Keep yer top knot on ya

Ground Hog,

I can't say I've contributed anything that has helped you directly.  But collectively, we all help each other.  I have gained much more than I've contributed here, but its the ongoing discussions that benefit us all.  Anyway, welcome aboard and good luck with your Chappy.
