Ruger V Finish

   I know it is a realativly common problem to some folks, but this is my first go round with it!

Can anyone here tell me how to refinish the faux Case Color finish on the Vaqueros?  I ve got a pair that I normally shoot with and have had them for 10 years without any problems.  But I just bought a Sheriffs Birdhead Vaquero with the finish fading and peeling off on the left side of the frame.  Is there anything to do but send it to Ruger for refinish or have a local strip it and just blue the whole frame?

Any ideas gratefully accepted!

          If this is a new gun, just send it back to Ruger and they will redo it for free, but ask them for a prepaid box to send it to them in or you will be paying around $ 78.00 to send it yourself.
