1860 birdehead grips&frame

i want to put a a cimarron thunderer grip frame on an 1860 army frame,i've seen it done and will supply pics,i just want to know how much machining or filing that has to be done to accomplish this?,i've got all types of hand tools just wanted to get an idea of the time and effort it would take,and how to get the two to match up real nice.i appreciate all info and comments

Mike,
If your 1860 is an Uberti then the Cimarron Thunderer gripframe should bolt up to it, no problems with the screw holes.  If it is a brand new gripframe that has never been fit to a gun, the sides of the triggerguard, at the top where it meets the fame, may be a little wider than the frame and require some sanding to make a perfect fit  I haven't read the links that the Professor posted, they may say the same thing  :)
