I made some and did a test holster in it for about 24 hours. It was not quite as dark as with the walnut I made before so I put it in the sun to darken. That didn't do too much so I put it on my bench under a strong lamp and forgot it. ::) After a while, the whole house smelled like burnt coffee. OK, I got a big old dark spot on it and the rest was still anemic. I tried roasting another spot on it further down to see if I could match it up but got limited success with that. Good thing it was just a test holster and not something I'd show in public. Oh, yeah, the thing reeks of burnt coffee, now. I think the smell is permanent. I don't have the heart to throw it away because I may find another way to make it look worse. My brew was a pound of coffee in a gallon of water boiled for most of a day. I tried drinking it, too. It was bad enough to make a dog bite his grandmother. You might be able to remove epoxy with it. I may boil another pound of coffee in it to see if I can darken it some. I may donate it to the great underground tank.

I'm still looking for a really dark brown. I'll find it yet, even if it isn't coffee. I'm boiling up some of Ace's pecans right now.

Got one on my living room carpet that my wife blames on me.  It isn't pretty, but it sure is permanent.

Not sure about the wife.  She's only been with me for 43 years, but that stain looks like it's gonna be forever.  ::)  :o

OK, the coffee brew is gone. I tossed it into the porcelain well. Now the refrigerator is full of jugs of walnut and pecan dye. I ended up with two gallons of it from the batch of pecans. I have a test piece in it now. Looking forward to seeing what it does. I do know this, I spilled one drop of it on the concrete. It's gonna be there for a loooong time and I washed it off immediately. That's promising in itself.
