 :) Howdy Pards,
Since I have this bad back, and I traded for Sharps 45-70 a gun that I have allways wanted! I mention to TW, and he got a hold of one of our fellow leatherworkers who sent me a pattern and instruction. It looks easy, but it wasn't :o
It has 11/2" of super high denisty foam, the back part is some 3oz veg tanned linning hide, I didn't have any proper lasing, so I used what I had until I can get the right stuff. I pulled the side cover out after 6 days in the walnut, but this peice of leather seem like i didn't take the dye as good as most! I most likely will try again, with the knowledge I learned from the mistakes I made on this one!
Because the paterrn was give to me, I won't mention the person name, because I am not forsure I was to!
Thanks for Looking

Looks darn good Ace,

The walnut stain looks dark enough to me......blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.

No Looks real good.  The Hi density must be hidden in the back end?

Don't have that big a rifle so don't quite have an Idea how it kicks.

JD, I havn't shot it yet, i plan on shooting it this week sometime if everything works out! Every one tells me, with BP it kicks like a 410 shotgun? But with my back being so bad i didn't want to take any chances.
Thanks for the Kind Words JD!!

Nice, Ace. I also like the color. Looks like it was designed for it. Let us know how it works.

Thanks Guys for the KIUDDOS, i plan to find out how it works, i pick up the right laceing for it today! But it is 97 degrees out ther and where we shoot has no shade, I have to mow tonight, and I hate that with a passon, especaily after that bad ice storm and all the trucks fixing down power lines and then I hired a guy with a bucket truck tocut the trees off the house, and then had to dig down below my foundation of the house and put in 140 ft of 4" pipe, so it is like trying to drive down the railroad tracks.

You all have a good one
