Hi all,
My wife saw a purse that had embossed suede, we both liked the look.   Do any of you all know how it is done?  I know to do certain fabrics, you wet the fabric place it over the raised design and iron it from the back.   Not sure suede would appreciate the iron and seems expensive to experiment if someone knows the way.

Thanks

When you say embosses, do you mean it has a tooled design on it or there was a raised pattern?
The term "embossed" gets used wrong many times.
Embossing is raising the leather over a plug or filling the back side with leather dust or padding.
For soft leathers, suedes etc. You normally have to have a positive and negative mold and a press to stretch
the leather. Then you fill the area with a batting and stitch a backing on. You see this a lot on motorcycle
jackets with eagles or USA embossed on the back.
If it was a carving it may not have been garment suede. It may have been veg-tan split. The flesh side of
veg-tan leather can be carved. Al Stholman carved many item on the flesh side.

THanks WC  I am betting it was done in a press as I am 99% sure it was suede.   Thanks for the info.
