:) I have a pair of Homries and I have the timing and actions perfect, and I don't want to remove anything from the cylinder nothces. All I would realy like to do is get rid out that matte black finish> I built a pair of Hawes  in 45LC this winter and they were basket in a box with a ton of parts missing, and they had spent there whole life shooting BP Blanks at Silver Dollar City, I took them down to barrel and polish them and sprayed break free on them and let sit over night, I got up and wiped them off, i have handled them allmost everyday for 6 months and never have put anything on them, and there is not a speck of rust! Is there any chemical to take off that matte finish? i assume it is powder coated?
I guess I will use 3m scoth brite pads.
If anyone can think of another way I would be great full.

They are Uberti's 1873's that stoger imported, they look like the milliums, i just can't stand a power coated Cowboy gun! I think that they are easier to clean if you shoot Wholy Black!! Only military guns should be power coated!
Thats just me! I would do the vinger thing, but I think i will just spend the time with a scotch brite pad ::) ::)

Ace you might want to soak the gun in vinegar over night , and then start working with a scotch brite or some sort of abrasive. I think your guns will look 100% better with that old flat black finish off them. (IMHO )
