Do these just drop in or do they require extensive fitting? Anyone have experience with these grips?
Cousin we been ashooten at each other all day! How about we stop for a beer then we kin go home and get our axes. Or just as good, lets forget this whole dang feud, I'm agetten too old for this anyhow!

Howdy Jubel,
no experience with those specifically for the Remmie, but I can say the Ajax pearlite's I put on my early third gen Colts are slightly oversized.  Not enough for me to have bothered with fitting them.  I keep telling myself I will someday as mine are also a little thicker than factory grips and I prefer thinner, just haven't ever gotten around to it.

Also, note that pearlite will darken (turn grayish) over time from exposure to the sun.  As I have several sets of guns these don't get out too often any more and after 7 years or so they have only turned a little gray and I think they still look fine, but have heard others say theirs grayed more quickly.

Also, they will crack more easily than some grips so be careful.  I have never cracked mine on the Colts but have broken one on a 1911 and knew one CAS shooter who had broken several sets on his Rugers, but he was the type of guy who kind of dropped his guns to the table after shooting when the stage called for returning guns to the prop.  I always cringe when I see people do that.

Thanks important information. I think I'll be getting a set I need a sligatly larger grip surface tan the factory grips. This sounds like the answer.

When I looked at these all I could think abou was Gen Patton's famous comment on pearl handled revolvers.   ;D

I have looked around for some ivory (probably not affordable) or faux ivory grips.  I had a nice set of "no name" grips I bought at a local gun show on a Ruger Vaquero (bright stainless finish).  Set the weapon off very nicely and was easy to hold.  Haven't found a set yet that I was ready to buy.

Good luck in your purchase!
