Ambushed nephew recieves Purple Heart

Yesterday at 11:30 AM President Bush visited my Nephew Sam Schoenhight at Bethesda and personally presented him with the Purple Heart.  It was a great honor for Sam to receive it from his hand.  Sam is still in ICU but is stable and resting.  They have removed all foreign objects from his head and are keeping him heavily sedated.  The doctors think he may have some paralysis on his left side but that it may be caused by the swelling in his brain and may not be permanent.  Its wait and see now.  Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts, I know his family is grateful.

I'm sorry he received the Purple Heart, (I don't wish ANY serviceperson to get wounded) but it is certainly warranted in his case and I'm VERY happy to see that our President felt it important enough to present it personally!

I can't find words to express my gratitude and hope for a full recovery any better than Steel Horse Bailey and Major 2 have already stated. We are all proud of the valiant soldier.
