Something for everyone to think about!!

Howdy Pards,
I was thinking today (something I don't do much of) and I think that all of you know how I feel about this forum and the Pards that make it so great!!!
I don't know if we could pull this off or not, but lets say next Oct. we find a place in the middle of where everyone lives, most likely some where midway between Missouri and California search for a nice place like a snow ski lodge that hasn't got open up yet, that would give us a great deal for a weekend, where evryone could fly in on a Friday night, and leave Sunday night, and all the Pards on here that want could have a weekend to talk shop, life ad what ever!
I plan on going to see my Son in the state of Washington and he found us round trip tickets for $188.00 a piece! I know that is a lot of money, and then we would have our lodging, but if we could find a place that was ready to open but no snow yet or whatever, we might get a deal? And this is just TALK right now!
But would it not be great for everyone to meet eye to eye and just kick back and have a great time!!!
It is okay if no one else thinks this is a good idea, I just brung it up for everyone to think about, I realize there are many people that would like to do something like that but just couldn't afford it! If it was planned for next week I could not go, but if a person has a year to think about it and puts away $7.50 a week you would have $390.00 saved.
I done thing's  when I was young that I felt guity qabout spending the money, but I look back now, and think if I waited untill I had the money my health wouldn't of let me do it. It only takes one spark to set a fire, and that is what this forum is, it is a big fire of Desire to re create the leather goods of our past!

I just thought I would toss that out, everyone give a little thought to it, and in 4 months or so, we can see if anyone wants to do it! But for now, please post, maybe, I don't think so, i would have to think hard about it, ect.
There is no promise that there will be Tomorrow, but we hope there is!!
If this has offended anyone in anyway, i am sorry!!

 We did this on the scale R/C plane forum I belong to. We had a scale builder weekend in IL. and about 100 people came. Some from as far away as Sweden. Had a weekend of great flying and seeing folks that you talk to everday online, but have never met face to face. It was a first meet as well as old home week.

hey Ace!  I think its a great idea!  I've never been west of kansas city, and i've been meaning to go sometime and see some things and this would be a good reason to give my wife since she holds the purse strings since my disabilty put me out of a full time job.  I'd enjoy seeing some of the great leatherwork and exchanging ideas and such, and if we could combine it with a shootin match it would be GREAT!

The possiabilty are end less, but I don't know anything about getting our guns where we would stay. When i went to British Columbia hunting 20 years ago, it wasn't a big deal to put you guns with your luggage! But i am game, it would be a hoot to meet evryone, there are so many great people on here it is un real, and they have gave me part of my life back!!! But to sit down and have talks with all these great people would just be the cats meow!! Maybe if WG or WC or Outrider could come, maybe they could give a little seminar or something or not!! If i would win the big lottery, i would pay for everyone to come!
I would like to see more people comment, several have read it, but didn't say a word! I am a grown up, and if someone wants to tell me this is a dumb idea, I won't say anything. I just want to learn, and meet all these people that have been so helpfull and kind to me! they compliment me on my work, and I am great full, but it is in no way up to you guys work, but this I don't think is something that can be learned over night, and there are those that think I am a hick from the sticks, because I like to make my own chemicals! That is who I am, and i except everyone else for what they are! We all put our pants on the same way! And if I can get a third as good as you all are I will be happy, i am allready happy!! Friends and family and your health are the most important things there are, most of us can do with less if we want to!That is the material things!!

It could be a fine time. Things would be tight for scheduling, but that can change quickly. It would be fun to meet some pards face to face. I did that with a couple of shooters at EOT one time. It was good.

I think it'd be fun. For me it would depend on "when and where" if I could make it or not.

 :)PS, That is why I would like anyone that reads this to give me there opition, no it won't be possible to set a date that everyone can make it, I don't think! But the sooner I know how many people that would like to, we have over a year, we might just get it done!!
I just think it would be great! If I lived in the middle, i would do my very best to have a 2-3 stage shoot if that is something people want, and do my best to acomadate you Pards.
If, and (no we can't because to many people would have to fly to far) youu take the motel here, it will hold 60 people and a person could rent it for the whole weekend for $600.00,  my trailer will sleep 4, i could get the range set up,  we could smoke a couple hogs, and a dozen chickens It would be very cheap!!
But to be fair to everyone somewhere in the middle would be the best!

I just hope more people jump in and voice there thoughts, and it doesn't have to be limited to just leather workers! That away I will have more time to be checking out places, and we could make up a commitee!
If anyone thinks I am trying to pull something here get a hold of TW!
We even might get Tandy to donate some door prizes ect.?
If there is enough people to do this, we might get other vendors to set up?? I am just opening the door, and if anyone Like WC, TW, MW, or anyone else wants to jump in and run the meeting it's COOL with me, i just want to meet evryone I can, and i cannot drive to everyone house to say HOWDY!!

  Santee, that is my plan, i have know idea if I can pull it of or not, but I have given myself enough time to sort things out and see if it will work! I think we will have lots of options, in early Oct, we might find a hunting lodge for a weekend1
I just want a laid back inverment that is peace full with enough room that we could mingle around, maybe have a set time to do a couple disciussion,  nothing that would tress anyone out!
And in no way am I trying to take anything away from this forum, it's that we have such a great group of Pards on here, that a eye to eye meet would just be so cool!! And do it in a fashion that it wouldn't break anyone!
