I know , I know ..it`s been posted before but , I`m a week away from ordering powder again and I need more kind words about Graf Powder ..Here`s the deal ..I uasually buy a case of 25 lbs of Goex from Powder Inc...cost me 296.00 to the door ....I checked on the Graf price to the door and it going to cost me 324.00 ...Tell me one more time the Gaf powder would be worth the extra bucks in these times of hard cash , and high gas prices ... ???

Here`s my experience with KIK powder I tried last time /// works great in my pistols // BUT when I used it in my front stuffer long rifles ..works great too ..UNTILL I take a break and let the rifles sit about 30 mins.  then the next shot won`t go bang ..I noticed it`s pulling in moisture while the rifle cools off ..I have to pop a cap before I reload after a break ...Goex doesn`t do that ...never had that problem before the KIK switch .

I hear tell that Grafs powder is Schutzen, made in Germany.  Same stuff as WANO.

Deer Creek (765) 525-6181 in Waldron, IN has Schutzen powder for $261 a case.  Hazmat is still $20.  Shipping from them to me in southern WI runs $13.75.  They are good folks.  Just digging out and rebuilding after a tornado hit them, but they are still in business.  Schutzen, to my door, would run me $295.25.

Grafs is Schutzen with thier label. I recently went in on a 50lb group buy at Deer Creek for Schutzen, 10.44 a lb I think. I already had 15lb from Grafs but couldn't pass up the split haz mat. You'll like the Schutzen.

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

I suspect that particular day was very humid and likely the muzzle was pointed "up" while resting.

All "True" gunpowder is a ratio of the same basic ingredients and will result in the same products of combustion. These products are hygroscopic and absorb moisture from the air when present. On humid days, I'm used to seeing water drip out of my Rifle and shotgun, whether using KIK, Schuetzen, Elephant or GOEX.

With a frontstuffer, I'd rest the firearm with the muzzle "down" for extended rest periods between strings.

The problem with the KIK powder didn`t just happen one day ...I had a 25 lb case of it me and the wife have been shooting for the last year I`m down to 3 lbs of it ...It happened to me and her every weekend ..I noticed after the breaks I had a wet nipple ..something I had never seen in my years of useing Goex ..First time it happened I thought maybe it was just extra humid that day , I do live in the humid south . I have to blame the KIK for the problem although I sure didn`t want too ..I like the powder , it`s good stout consistant shooting powder at a good price ..I payed 256.00 for the case . We could both tell from the get go the KIK powder is a little stouter than Goex . I`ll shoot the rest of it up in my cap and ball revolvers it`s never been a problem with them ..probally because of the inline type ign on the revolvers. Our long rifles are custom builds with small nipple drums ...We both shoot alot of black powder rendevous shoots where drop of the hammer is counted as a miss ...not a good time to hear a cap pop , and no boom . :'(

I was shooting APP all the time, tried Goex was happy enough to go BP and then I tried Schuetzen and fell head over heels for that German stuff.

I still load app in the shotgun due to the amount of it I have - however I have switched to Schuetzen BP in rifle pistol.

I am finding that with schuetzen I spend even less time with my OT's than I did with APP.  I still wipe down cylinder face on routine basis - not because I need to but just got into the habit and it is not a bad habit in need of breaking!

I clean a little more after the shoot than I used to before but again that is just my habit with BP - I know my moosemilk mix will keep things fine for more than a few days if needed.

Grafs has good prices, but if you are buying case amounts and can pick it up from the source - you will always beat it.
