Would like to reline my 5 1/2" barrel on my Pietta .36 cal 1862. I can get the liner, so that's not an issue. I had originally planned on sending it to R&D, but have been reading horror stories on various forums about poor quality work and year long time delays. So I either do it myself or find someoe else. Any thoughts or recommendations?

If you are not an EXPERIENCED machinist you will butcher it as the barrel liner needs to be PROPERLY turned down on the ends & crowned afterwards and to do this you need a lathe.  ;)

Where'd you get the liner at?
I was thunking the same thing  but couldn't find a liner.

Track of the Wolf lists a 9mm barrel liner sold by the inch.

Another source for liners is T. J.'s Barrel Liners, 3652 Nelter Rd., Alexandria, KY  41001.  Phone 859/635-5560.  No web site that I know of but he does have a price list and lists a 9mm/357 liner also.

I have used several of his liners in various calibers and have been quite pleased with them.
