We've had time now to get multiple reports on the Cowboy Carrier for toggle links and BP.

The early carriers MAY run real well with BP, or MAY experience a stoppage after 30 to 50 rounds as the cartridge stop fails to "flip" properly.  Some of em are just a little TOO PRECISION made to handle BP fouling well.  The "fix" as accomplished by those who had this problem is to remove the carrier, lift on the return spring legs, remove the pivoting stop, and take a few thousanths off the top and bottom surfaces of the stop, then stone it nice and smooth.  Reassemble and OIL THE PIVOTING STOP!  Once fixed, we're getting reports of 80 to well over 100 rounds fired before things begin to gunk up (requiring a squirt of olive oil or moose milk)..  Not too shabby for a BP rifle ;)

ALL future carriers will have a bit more clearance in this critical area, so they ought to run BP flawlessly out of the box so long as the pivoting stop is kept wet with oil..
