USFA started out using Uberti parts that were fit and finished here in the U.S.. thy then went to all U.S. manufactured in Colt's old building( the Blue Dome with the Rampant Colt on top). They've since moved into a more modern building away from some railroad tracks that were giving some of their computer run machines fits. The current USFA offerings are 100% made in the U.S. with no Uberti parts involved. And, as the dollar verses Euro heats up, they are becoming much more competitive pricewise. Hope this helps......................Buck 8) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Thank's 8)

I have allways want to get me a Colt made 100% in the US, old or new, but the price has been too high,..... So the USFA Colts is the same as the original's Colt's from Hartford ???
If it is, i would shure make a order from Marshal Halloway this year, ( i can call him and hear what he can do) 8)

Thank's

Hey Woodrow, You won't be saving a lot of money going to the USFA SAA. I bought a beauty about a year ago and paid $1199 for it. Yes it was a little higher because of the True-Ivory stocks.
Two months ago I bought a new SAA from Colt, paid about $100 more than I did for the USFA.
Now many fine folks out there will tell you that the USFA is better but, I beg to differ. The new SAA's from Colt are fantistic.
The fit and finish are almost identical.
I would recommend both revolvers, just remember, one has the pony on it. :)

USFA firearms are indeed made in Hartford. They are made on about 15 million worth of state of the art 5 axis machines by some very good craftsmen (craftspersons). I'm not sure of the Rodeo models but all the others are US made.

Doc,
Rodeos are US made as well.  Price difference is the result of the Rodeo finish, which requires much less polishing and prep work.

Thanks Capt. Been a while since I talked to anyone about those. Glad to hear that they aren't Foreign made  anymore.

I just received a pair of Nickle plated Colt .45's. The quality is fantastic. In my not so expert opinion, the USFA is made as good as a Colt, but not better. Tthe advantage of a Colt is that the resale value, if that's important, will likely to continue to increase whereas the USFA is  not likely to increase nearly as much. If you don't plan to ever sell em' it don't really matter. Both are great guns.
