Hey y'all,
I would love to meet Tom Selleck. He is a favorite actor of mine and I love him in westerns. To me, he fits a western and is today's actor who most fits in a western.

I would like to see a Sequal to "Quigley Down Under", to me an often overlooked movie that, even though happened in Austrailia in the Cowboy era,  is still one of the best western of these times. I loved that scene at the end where he draws against Marson and his two lackies and beats them. The way he draws that 1860 Army Colt .44 from his waistband and cocks and fires as he comes level, and then fires two more quick shots by fanning, is awesome!! I used to wonder if it was him or a double due to my VHS not showing anything but the hands (if I remember correctly). But my new DVD shows his whole upper torso as he does it, leaving no mistake as to who is doing the shooting. I don't know whether or not he is an Old West buff in real life and has guns and practices, or just practiced and did it for the movie, but he was awesome.
Take care,

Tom Selleck is very proficient with guns and is a Old West buff, not to mention a Life Member of the NRA. A lot of the guns that are used in his movies, he has had input on with the historical aspects.

Hey Rawhide Rio,
Does Tom Selleck have a fan site or website where I could e-mail him? I would love to correspond with him.

Don't know for sure. Try Googling his name. Something is bound to show up on that.

Several of Selleck's guns were sold at auction here locally last week end. I handled the "Cable" gun, very nice. I didn't stick around to see what the Cable gun sold for but the estimates were between $10 to $20K . There were also several of his modern trap guns there as well as a lever gun or two.

Seeing that picture of "Cable" made me dig out my copy of "Last Stand At Sabre River" and watch it again. I'd forgotten just how good that movie was. A few years back I read that Selleck was going to do a remake of "The Culpepper Cattle Company" movie....wonder what happened? I sure would like to see how he would have played that one, especially since he was able to outdo Lee Marvin in "Monte Walsh".
