Got a new set of SA USFA revolvers.  The basepins, on both guns, are very difficult to remove from the cylinders.  I can get them half way out, but that last half is really tough.  Any trick you can share that make this task easier?  My fingers hurt!

August,
With hammer at half-cock, try rotating the cylinder a bit as you draw out the pin.

I have been using these bicycle tire levers, they are about $3 for a pack of three and they work great, also they are made of fiberglass and will not scratch your gun. You can use them as is or use a rat tail file and make a half circle cut out to grab the pin.

All sound like good suggestions, but has anyone seen the new Davidson's offering from USFA?  The base pin is one thing, but a knurled "takedown" screw for base pin removal (BP frame on Sheriff Model)?   :o

It would be handy for when you don't have a screwdriver nearby....  ;)

The Italian guns with the BP frame also come with this knurled screw.  It is supposed to be removed and replaced with the standard screw before shooting.

Interesting USFA Sheriff's model on the Davidson's site.  In addition to the knurled screw it also has an "extended" cylinder pin, elongated cylinder flutes and a Bisley style hammer. ???  I also noted that Davidson's site states that they have "zero" guns in stock for all USFA models listed.
Here is a link to Davidson's listing;
