I am new to this board and very interested in the holsters and such. In going thru old posts I saw a picture that you had posted 2-10-06 of a holster that I very much like. Would this be considered a Cheyenne style holster? It looks a lot like one that F.A. Meanea may hve made. It is beautiful! I have three 3 Colts that I need to make holsters for a 4.75 45 Colt, 4.75 38 special Colt and a 7.5 38 Colt. Is the pattern you used readily available and if so how can I obtain it? Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi Brad
I don't have the answer to your question but wanted to say welcome to the board. I am located a few miles south of Des Moines, how about you?

Marshal will most probably answer you on this but I looked at the holster and yes it is a Cheyenne style holster.  You can buy a pattern pack from a neighbor of yours...Will Ghormley out of Des Moines.  willghormley-maker.com.  or you can send him a message on this forum...he is in here frequently

Welcome to the forum

Marshal..hope you don't mind me giving 67 an answer on this

Howdy, 67. Welcome to the forum. We're looking forward to seeing your posts.

You have a good eye. That holster is a Cheyenne style and I copied a Meanea holster for the pattern. That was before I found out that Will has a good pattern for it available, like Outrider said. I think he also has a tooling pattern included if you want to make a full tooled one. Give him a call or check his website for that pattern.

Outrider, you just beat me to telling him exactly that. Good thing, too, since I've been tied up all day and he probably has the information already thanks to your post.

I live North of Kalona, Iowa in a little un incorporated town. I have loved old guns and Western history for as long as I can remember. I certainly appreciate all of the info you fellas can give me and also look forward to learning a whole lot more. A couple of years ago I got obsessed with Tom Horn, he was born just south of me in Mo. We visited where he was born and have been all over the  Wyoming where he spent his last years. We even stood in the office where he made his alleged confession to Joe LeFlores. This site looks like a good place for me to hang out!

I certainly can agree with that. This is the best I've found.
