Is this a sign that hand spring is about to give up?

When holding the pistol (Pietta 61 Navy Sheriff) vertically difficult to cock very stiff hammer (sometimes), normal horizontal position seems fine.  Just noticed after cleaning it after shooting it.  Indexing otherwise seems fine.

Stripped it down and cleaned and lightly oiled each part, and now seems fine.  Mmmmmhhhh..
