Any suggestions on lightening the trigger on a new Uberti 1873 Rifle?  It is pretty heavy, yet relatively smooth.  Certainly not conducive to decent shooting though.

Additionally. does anyone know of,or know someone that will make a single set trigger for the same rifle, like Winchester offered as an option originally?

The trigger pull weight is directly related to the pressure from the trigger return spring and the heaviness of the Main Spring.  Reducing those springs will effect the trigger pull.  Go easy.  Very easy to get too light.

If ya want a light, crisper trigger, I recommend replacing the mainspring with a reduced power mainspring from thesmithshop.com  While yer at it, might as well do the whole job and replace the finger lever spring (which will reduce the trigger as the original finger lever spring stacks on top the trigger spring)  and the lifter and lever springs up front as well.  Bill English has made some great improvements with these springs.  Yer "fair" rifle will suddenly feel "great".
