Howdy Pards,
You guys have been so good to me and I am Deeply Great Full !!
When I got my rope tool I ask how the proper way to use it, and you all showed me (Thank You !)
I got a chance to pick up another rope tool R 875,(cheap) if anyone has time to show me what it is to look like I would be great full.
Even though I don't realy have the money to keep buying these stamps, but when you find a bargin WHAT DO YOU DO?
I got to get my pennies  sayed to pay Will for his James stamps where they are ready. I keep tring to buy the W965 or the W964 that is the little rose, but every time I find one, by the time you buy it and pay ship, you have to much money in it!

I will be very great full if some one could please so me how this stamps works !
I will be most humble, and very great full!

Ace: I've never used any of the rope stamps myself, but I'm sure one of the other pards here can help. Sorry.

That stamp is a lot harder to use than the other one I posted a while back. I have it in 4 sizes and don't care
much for it. It's just part of my collection.
Here is the best I get out of it.
Here is also a pix of how I carve a rope boarder.

Howdy WC.,
I havn't master the other one yet, and it is hard enough, I played with this one a little today, and it is a lot harded and not near as nice. THe second pic looked better, did you use a F898 - F901 , seems you added a little texture stamp and it added depth to it! Still not as nice as  R956, and like I said it was a bargin, i had to have it, just like my wife and SHOES ::)

Thank you Sir!! :)

I will have to go play with mine, but I think if its tipped a little more so its a narrower rope, it will work better. Like I said  I think....... Been awhile since I messed with that one, and never did like it much because of the easiness to screw up a pattern.

I just beveled it with a standard checkered beveler and beveled the center lines at opposit sides

What WC shows is the way it is intended to be used. Unfortunately, I've NEVER been able to get it to come out that nice (my kudos, WC). I use it end to end to make a meander pattern, either to "cheat" an E.L. Gallatin border (like Washington) or with verious seaders to create an early style border.

I like the way you used the stamp. Very cool.
For those who may have a problem seeing the pix because it was a little dark here it is lightened up.

I agree on the use of that stamp. It really works as a meander. Nice idea.

Mr. Jim,
Very nice holsters, I did play with that stamp the way you use it, and i thought maybe it was a small twine type rope, there may be more possiblities  for that stamp that I first thought.
I had a Professional Photography Studio for 30 years, allways did it after my mian job! It was my second income! Money got real tight here about 3 years ago, and i got feed up with allways having do do a shoot when I wanted to go shoot my guns ect.,,
The point I am trying to make is, I would allways plan my photo shoots in advance, new just how I was going to do the shoot, then  about 1 before the shoot my mine would go blank, and i would shoot it totaly diff.
But in the leather work I am dead untill i start, when I get a idea I draw it out, the change it 10 times.

Thanks Pards.
