Howdy all. I just got done lubing a bunch of EPP UG 45s, and they tend to like to stick together. Is there a powder I can put on them that wont hurt nothing? Was thinking a little cornstarch or flour might keep the stickiness away.
Its that or sort them into their own little containers instead of the coffee can. Thanks.

Using SPG for now, so......Will use my harder stuff with beeswax and crisco later when luber runs dry.
Thanks. DM

For BP lubed bullets, I've taken to using the lids off the large plastic Folger's coffee cans as trays.  I stand the bullets in the tray as they come out of the luber/sizer.  Once full, I stack another lid on top and start the next tier.  In summer, I use a cake container??? a rectangular rubbermaid deal with a snap-on lid that will hold two stacks of three tiers each of the trays (about 700 bullets) and stick it on the bottom shelf in the fridge.  Cold bullets are not sticky.

Go to your nearest public shooting range and "dumpster dive" for the styrofoam bullet trays. They are perfect for storing lubed bullets.  ;)

Chilling the bullets in the fridge, as AJ says, is a good way to make 'em less sticky.  PL-II has the same problem.  I live with it, but Lou Graham first put me on to the fridge thing.  Usually I just run a batch thru the Star unit into a box random like and start loading.  Yup, they do get sticky if it's good lube.

So, chill 'em and it will reduce your sticky problem.

FWIW, your local sawbones has some black plastic trays that he throws away that are perfect for storing bullets.  His blood sample vials come in the tray and when they are used up, he throws away a perfectly good bullet container.  They stack and hold 50 bullets each in their separate holes.  I use 'em for shipping my bullet samplers.

When I was shooting smokeless, I lubed my bullets with Lee's Liquid Alox. For those that haven't used it, it never completely drys and is always sticky. I bought Motor Mica from Midway and rolled them in it. Solved the problem.

Thanks gents. Was gonna chill em anyway due to the heat that builds up in the garage in the summer. Now I gotta go shoot some and see how well they work in my Starrs. DM

Howdy

Like Fox Creek Kid  says, I have a big stack of styrofoam inserts from cartridge boxes that I have accumulated over the years. And I ain't too proud to do a little dumpster diving if i see a couple of likely candidates down at the range. An awful lot of guys don't reload and throw away all kinds of good stuff.

When I am lubesizing my bullets I pop them into the styrofoam inserts. Good way to keep my bullets organized, each container holds 50. Most guys who cast these bullets ship them packed that way too. Keeps the bullets from jostling against each other and rubbing the lube off.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!
