Hmmm. Seems that the EPPUG is too long to get under the loading lever of my Starrs. Also there is no cylinder pin in a Starr, so the loading stands wont work either.
Argggh! Glad I didnt wait until match day to try them out. At least they will fit in my Colts alright.  :-\
Is there anyone else out there shooting these with the Starr revolvers?
If so, what did you do to load them.
Thanks.

( DD, dont get no ideas about a 100 gr 45.) ;D

LOL!  I have a 120 that is no longer than it is wide, but it's pretty much a smokeless or sub type bullet (minimal lube grooves)

Howdy Dalton,

Will the EPP-UG clear the frame?  If the bullet clears the frame, perhaps a second loading rod could be had and shortened for use with the EPP-UG bullets.  I'm loading my 1860s on the loading stand and the EPP-UG bullets work great in them.

Nope DD, it wont clear the frame. I thought about notching it, but it is pretty thin there to begin with. May have to make myself a loading stand with a hole for the cylinder to drop into, instead of an arbor. DM

I dumped my Starr SA because you cannot load the cylinder while off the gun and also because, just like the originals, they have a tendency to skip a bolt notch and lock up. Great style points however.

I havent had much problem with mine after I cleaned up some burrs in the action. You do have to pull it back like you mean it tho, or it will require some attention. I shoot a brace of them, and they sure are fun.

I'm coming out with a new loading stand.  Prototype is ordered.  If you can send your requirements for the Star guns I can have a base plate made that will work, or ship an uncut blank that you can tool to your needs.

Got it DM, thanks.

Let's see how it pans out and then I'll find a way to make it work for your guns.
