Well I was able to go through 4 different loads this morning before the weather got nasty again.  For those who might be interested, here are the results:  The air temp was a brisk +35 degrees and it was overcast and sort of breezy for the moment.  I was using 50-90 Sharps cases that were reformed to 45-75 and CCI 200 primers.
Load #1 was with 75grains of Fg GOEX and the Buf Arms 350 grain bullet with SPG lube.  In fact, all 4 loads were with this bullet and the CCI primer.    The average velocity was 1495.5 fps.  The SD was 24.8 fps and the CV was 1.7%

Load #2 was with 56.0 grains of Pyrodex CTG.  The average velocity was 1370.0 fps.  The SD  was 9.3 fps and the CV was 0.7%

Load #3 was with 72.0 grains of FFg Goex. The average velocity was 1489.9 fps.  The SD was 51.4 fps and the CV was 3.7%.

Load #4 was with 26.0 grains of 4759.  the average velocity was 1400.0 fps.  The SD was 51.4 fps and the CV was 3.7%.

I still have 4 more test loads to try.  I already have a couple of loads that I am comfortable with but I still like to mess around and try different recipies out.  Besides, I enjoy playing with that big toy.  When I am really, really comfortable with one particular load, I will go get some venison this coming fall.  i still have one test load with Swiss #1.5 to try.  From what you all have been saying, that is a good BP to try out.

The Chronograph that I use is a PACT Professional series.  The screens were set at 6 feet from the muzzle and all the shots were fired at 50 yards.  None were all that great but the one with the 4759 was the best.

larryo-1,Wow thanks for posting these results. tho I don't have a '76 yet I have folowed these rifles for more than three years now,and have been waiting for things to work out with the Uberti's. Somewhere I saw a picture of an original box of Winchester 45/75 ammo that had reloading instructions on it using 1Fg.  And now by Your results I see that it gave the best velocity, something that was doubted when I asked the poster about the original ammo as He said that the powder scale was different back then. .45 Colt:
Thanks for the feedback.  Am still working on another set of loads when the weather will let me.  I got my '76 last summer and have been having lots of fun with it.  It is a Uberti Cimerron rifle.  Had to rework the trigger a bit as it was pretty hard.  Also scraped off that Italian varnilsh and redid the stock to suit me.  Now I gots a really pretty rifle and a damn good shooter.  Love to play with different loads and somewhere I will find that perfect load.  I use fire-formed 348 brass and reformed 50-90 Sharps brass and am waiting for some of those Starline 45-75 brass to become available.  I DID not have good luck with Bertram and the price is way too high for the quality.

Yep!  That is one of the next batch of loads that I got loaded up but with the Buf Arms bullet.  If that works okay, I got some Lyman 330 HP's and some 457192's to try also.  Just having fun with the big Boomer.  That is when the weather lets me!
