Shot my first BP, Thanks for the help!!

Well, I finally did it, shoot my first BLACK POWDER  yesterday. Man what a blast, now I know what the big deal is. Clean up was just like you told me Driftwood. First I used some MPro 7 to strip the smokless out of a pair of Model Ps. Then cleaned them again with Murphy's mix followed up with Bilistol and then Gun Butter on all the moving parts. Loaded up some Schuentzen 3f with Springfield Slim's 158gr Snakebites. After our monthly CFDA match I went over to an empty bay and let smokey lead fiy. Even though we had a good breeze blowing there still was plenty of smoke. After each run I couldn't stop laughing and the grin is still here. I've got a shotgun ready so now all I have to do is prep my Marlin and I'll be ready for my first BP match. Thanks to all of you for the help and advice getting me headed down the path of darkness.

I am a rookie with a cap and ball revolver myself... and am headed to the range again this week to make big booms and lots of smoke.

You might want to reconsider taking your c&b revolvers to the range.  You may well get pestered by the other folks at the range when you set those things off.   I know they ask me questions when I shoot mine.
