Howdy to the campfire. An Austrian pard of mine acquired above musket which is said to be from a Russian contract.
The piece is in overall good condition but both the loading lever and the loading gate have gone missing. Obviously he wants to complete her with original parts.
Where could he get these original parts? Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

I would call S&S Firearms....check out the links below for contact info. they are here in the states....east coast I think. Next place to look would be the rare winchesters website. These parts may not be easy to find and that may be an understatement. Good Luck! http://www.ssfirearms.com/ rare winchesters.... http://www.rarewinchesters.com/

He should have bought two: one for parts!!! ;D :D ;)

LJW, parts will be almost impossible to find, especially internal ones. Sights show up once in a blue moon. His best bet would be to modify Uberti parts if possible, but then again he can't really shoot it.

P.S.  Is he sure this is a Russian gun or perhaps an Ottoman gun captured in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78?  ;)

ACHTUNG!!! Es ist nicht gesetzlich für mehr als ein Deutscher, in einem "Faden" aufzustellen!!  ;D :D ;)

Sir your best bet would be my pal, Albert Buckingham

Try this link for his contact info:

If this doesn't work email me and I'll get you in contact with him (my email is in the signature line).
By the way he has Winchesters piled up like cord wood. It's like visiting Disneyland for the first time!

Hoof Hearted is correct.  Albert is by far the best bet in the US.  Your friend had better be prepared to pay through the nose.  If Albert has the parts, they will be exceedingly expensive.  Good luck

Adios,
Buck

Yes, LJW & Henry4440 are German. I've actually spoken with LJW and he is great fella. Henry4440 appears to be as well. You should check out some of the German CAS sites!!  :o  Those people take their clothing seriously!! And as I'm sure you know, the U.S. was chock full of German immigrants in the 19th century.

Howdy pards & thanks for the hinds. Checked out SS Firearms they are nice people but don't have the parts. Now, I will fax Albert. Thanks for supporting this German cowboy that he can help his Austrian buddy.
