I hardly qualify in this forum, but wanted to show you my winter time project.
I bought an old used jacket from a pard I shoot with and added some Indian Beaded strips, rosettes, and hair ties to make me a new shooting jacket. I also purchased a different hat and added bead work for the hatband.
The plain jacket pics are the before and then the after.

You can view the pics at the following link:  http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0Catmbdu1aMXfw

Tell me what you think.

Thank you I had  a great time looking for things and putting it all together I can't wait to wear it to my first shoot.

You have a great jacket, there. I'm looking to do one similar to it for shooting plainsman one of these days. It really has a nice look. I see the hatband matches the bead strips n the front. Nice touch. BTW, it's leather so you do qualify here. Show us your next project, too. Looking forward to your posts.

I really like that also.  Where did you obtain the beadwork or are you a beader?  I really wish there was a better selection of finished beadwork than what Tandy has to offer.

No I am not a beader don't have the patience for that nor the eyesight anymore, I found the rosettes and hair ties from sites for native american bead work google search and also some on e-bay under rosettes hair ties and Indian bead work so some of it is the real deal and some imported from who knows where. There was a tandy listing from Indianapolis that had strips of bead work like these and what seemed to be a nice selection to me. :)

Dr. Bob

Crazy Crow Trading Co. has a good selection of beading, from Hong Kong IIRC.

That does look good hoss.  I wish I had time to do nice beading like that on my jacket.  As is, I barely have time to patch the holes where the cold wind sneeks through.  Though, after some ten years of hard use, horses nibblin' off fringe and patches over patches, it's startin' to get some character.
