I have in my possession a beautiful .45 Kirst Konverter and ejector rod assembly for my 1860 Pietta!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D

I will get some pics tomorrow.  There may be one or two Piettas and some Uberti's still not spoken for, so get a hold of me.  I will forwarding the list to Walt in the next day or two. After this run, you will have to get the cylinders through Walt's retailers.  The 1660/1861 Richards type ejector rods are available through his retailers now.

:)Pics will be posted tomorrow (Monday).  First without the channel and without the ejector, then I will mill out the channel for the loading gate and but the ejector in.  I will probably have to send them to the moderator to downsize and insert.  Neither of the photo programs on my MAC I Book resize.

BTW,  the current crop of Pietta 1860s are WAY :o nicer than the ones 5 years ago!  I have obtained an off the shelf from Cabelas, and ikt is gorgeous!  Pietta Kirsts will take 45 Colt 250s, did I mention that? ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'll try this.  I made them as small as possible. I have not cut the channel, yet.  If you don't cut a channel and use it without the ejector like an RD, you should trim the backside of the gate, as it is desinged for a channel.

OOOOPS, still not small enough.  I'll send to moderator.

The Kirsts are ready and only a few left of the initial run.  There are more Uberti left than Pietta. I gave him the information supplied to me by you if you were interested, but best to Email Walt with your info at <kirstlonverter@usfamily.net>  The Pietta takes .45 Colt, .45 Schofield, and 45 Cowboy special.  VERY nice.

I found a way to cut the size in the camera, but only got this one pic before the battery died!

I cut the channel (ugh, what a pain) it took me about two hours, a cut off grinder, two 5/8 aluminum oxide dremels drums, and a sanding drum.  Finished off with cold blue, added the Konverter ring, and the Richards ejector rod, and went out and capped off five rounds of Black Hills 250 45 Colt into the grounds in the back yard (nice to live in the country).

I now have a Richards in 45 Colt (5 shot) the hammer locks between rounds like an R&D (sort of).  If I feel the need for a second percussion for Plainsmen or CW re-enacting, I just replace the rammer and the cylinder

TL, Looks great. I can see that cutting the channel would make for a fun??? night. What is there to putting the ejector in?

Cutting the channel wasn't too bad.  about two hours.  The ejector is a two piece affair, nor modification required.  I can switch back to the rammer in one minute.

TL,
Will he be making it in 44 Colt in the near future and are there any 2nd Generation Colt (Uberti) 1861 Navy conversions available?
I like the idea of being able to switch back to cap and ball easily.

No plans (yet) for 44 Colt for the 1860.  I believe he has 1861s for heeled 38s already.  Email him at <kirstkonverters@usfamily.net>
