I  remember last year , one of the mags said a 76 Teddy Roosevelt model with half mag tube  ,pistol grip stock etc was going to be made this year by one of the Itallian makers . Does anyone have any info on if this is so and the details ? That  magazin article  stated they would announce it arround the first  of the year but I have not seen anything yet . Thanks

There was an article in NRA's February 2008 American Rifleman.  Doug Turnbull Restorations will be making only 25 and they are part of a benefit for the NRA Foundation.  I can't imagine them being less than $15,000 or so.  Perhaps a good gunsmith can shorten the magazine?!

There was another post about the 76 TR model.  $28,000 gets you into the club!!

as good as that sounds ( If I Teddys money) the article was about an Italian copy much like they do  with the 73 sporter model . i might be able to afford THAT one !!!! I dont get the brains behind the manufactures some times . If I were doing the making I would have a model  model with folding express sites , models with flip up peeps , cheek pieces , nice checkering etc as options. I cant believe they would not sell more than a few and none of that is that hard to do .
