I was recently given a late model 94 winchester which has the buttstock missing.
I have looked at the companies that sell reproduction SRC carbine stocks for the early model 92's and 94's.
They say on the websites that they will not interchange with the late (post 64 Winchesters).
I took the stock off my original 92 winchester and slid it on the new model 94 and it looked like it would only require minor hand fitting to make it work.
Is there some problem fitting the old 92/94 stocks to the newer post 64 winchesters that i am missing?
I could easily buy a post 64 stock but I like the looks of the early SRC stocks with the steel buttplate and flat comb.
It appears it would require only minor inletting to make it work.
Thanks.
