anyone know where i can get a mold to make .357 hollow base bullets? according to mike ventorino's book Rapine makes or used to make one. but i get the impression that they're out of business. any help would be appreciated.

Hell-Er High Water

About every two or three months someone has heard that Rapine is no longer in business.  In August a member here talked to Ray Rapine, ordered a mould from him and was assured that, as of then, he was still in business.

The latest Rapine catalog that I have, catalog #20 dated 9/1/04, has a phone number for him of 215/679-5413.

It also shows two hollow base, 38 caliber bullets.  One for pistol, #358149, and one for rifle, #358158.

Give him a call and hopefully he is still in business.  Please let us know what his status is.

I bought the hollow base mold from old west bullet molds and it works great!  I use it to make the rounds for my 1851 Colt Conversion and it is a sweet peice of work...all brass and just as pretty as it is functional.

My only complaint (and I beleive it is the same for all hollow-base molds) is that it makes the bullets one at a time...

I would highly recommend Old West!
